Giving Back – Supporting the Local Area
In our self-catering lets, the welcome hampers we provide champion the local produce the area has to offer. From award-winning “Season’s Bounty” marmalades and jams to “Gnaw” Chocolate and “Kettle Chips” – we try to source everything within a 20 mile radius of Sisland.
We provide information on local Farmers Markets and Farm Shops encouraging our guests to visit and sample the amazing array of food and drink available within the region. In addition, Lesley works alongside Loddon Parish Council to raise the profile of the locality and encourage tourism and Jane gives her time as a volunteer in Loddon Information Centre.
Over the last five years, we have raised over £15,000 for various charities within the area by organising a local Craft Fair. These have included:
- Nelson’s Journey
- Macmillan Cancer Support (Eastern Region)
- The Big C
In 2017, we are supporting the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices Nook Appeal to help fund the building of a new hospice in Framingham Earl, a village only 6.5 miles away from Sisland Tithe Barn.
